2021 Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show

Summertime ushers in some of the best that Colorado has to offer - meadows peppered with colorful wildflowers, flowing cool rivers, and fresh, delectable produce grown right here in the Rocky Mountain state. Vail Farmers Market and Art Show brings a variety of goods to our backyard each Sunday throughout the summer and early fall. Here’s how to make the best of this weekend market.

When & Where

Located on Meadow Drive in Vail, Colorado, this beloved event spans 16 Sundays from June 20th to October 3rd. Parking is available at Vail Village Parking or Lionshead Parking, but local residents may enjoy riding their bikes or walking through the scenic Vail Valley. From 9:30 – 3:30, bakers, artists, and farmers display their wares for excited shoppers looking for unique gifts, handmade products, and local foods.

A Longstanding History

For the past two decades, Vail Farmers Market and Art Show has brought sought-after items to this picturesque valley. It started with just a few tents and booths of excited farmers wanting to provide the community with high-quality and nutrient-rich food. From there, the market grew to include over 140 tents and a diverse array of artisans, artists, growers, ranchers, and other local business owners. In its early years, the majority of visitors came from nearby, but now, tourists from all over make it a point to visit the Vail Farmers Market and Art Show.

About the Vendors

We could spend months covering each interesting vendor that sets up shop at this Sunday market. With over 40 food vendors alone, there’s something interesting, edible, and exciting for each guest who plans a day here. Local artists include Jaime Lee PhotographyGus Contemporary, and Grundy Studio. Handmade goods vary from woven baskets and outdoor gear to beaded jewelry and leatherworks. Upgrade your wardrobe, find a one-of-a-kind gift, and support local businesses by shopping with art show vendors.

Farm-to-Table Dinners

To experience the bountiful harvest that Colorado’s agricultural industry has to offer, reserve a seat at one of the market’s farm-to-table dinners. Each unique gathering features seasonal ingredients, local produce, and a chef-curated menu. Mingle with local residents and international travelers at communal tables while filling up on a delectable four-course menu.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere

In addition to beautiful handmade goods, original artwork, and ripe produce, the market serves as an educational opportunity so that guests may learn more about the local food industry. Bring the kiddos or come with some questions yourself to better understand the food system at a hyper-local level. We don’t often get the chance to meet the people who grow food that fills our refrigerators. The Vail Farmers Market and Art Show gives us the chance to really learn where our food comes from and the work it takes to grow, produce, and sell it.

Plan a weekend in Vail or jet over on Sunday morning to experience all that this long-tenured market has to offer. Your participation ensures that local farmers, artists, and makers can remain in businesses and continue contributing to our state’s diverse culture.
