What You Need To Know About The Powabunga Music Festival in Vail, Colorado

We’re very excited that Powabunga Music Festival is coming back to Vail in December 2021. Powabunga was nominated one of the 10 bestemerging festivals in 2020 by USA Today. The classic Rocky Mountain backdrop and cozy winter environment make for a world-class experience that concert-goers won’t forget. Hit the slopes and enjoy Vail’s shops and restaurants before rocking out in the evenings. Come prepared with warm layers, as this outdoor venue is subject to Colorado’s unpredictable weather.

Festival Details

Powabunga takes place on December 10th and 11th at Ford Park, east of downtown Vail. This year’s lineup of artists features Rufus Du Sol, Bob Moses, Elderbrook, and more. Doors open at 4 pm and parking is free for the evening at the Vail Village structure starting at 3 pm. They encourage attendees to leave bags at home to make going through security as easy as possible. Tickets are still available for the entire event, but they will not last long! After-party events are also available as add-ons for both nights after the official festival winds down.

Things to Do in Vail

When the festival gates are closed, Vail is a great place to have a classic Colorado adventure. Hit the slopes at VailResort, or one of the nearby resorts like Breckenridge or Keystone. Go ice skating and warm up with hot chocolate at the rink in the center of town. Explore the local restaurants and bars, then walk it off at the Magic of Lights display, conveniently located in the same park that hosts Powabunga. No matter how you choose to fill the festival off-hours, get ready to get down once the doors open and the music begins!

Where to Stay and How to Get There

If you plan on staying for the weekend, reservations are still available for the Evergreen Lodge, one of Powabunga’s official partners.
