It’s time for the 52nd Annual Palisade Peach
Festival, so set your calendars for August 19-21 and experience one of
Colorado’s original agricultural festivals firsthand. There’s something for
everyone at this family-friendly event, so whether you enjoy picking your own
fruit, music, contests, tours, cuisine, or parades, you’re sure to have a blast
and learn about peaches in Palisade.
The festival kicks off on the evening of
Thursday, August 19th with an ice cream social and street dance in downtown
Palisade on 3rd and Main. The social is free to residents and tourists, and
will run from 5:30-7:30pm.
On Friday the 19th the festival will be open
from 3-9pm. Guests can expect live music, vendors, cooking demonstrations by
local chefs, great food, and plenty of entertainment for kids, including a
closing fireworks’ display.
Saturday is sure to be bustling from sun-up to
sun-down. The day is slated to begin at Memorial Park with a pancake breakfast,
but if you prefer exercise to eating, you can sign-up for the Just Peachy 1K or 5K Run, beginning
at 8:30am. Also on the agenda for the day is a car show, parade, peach eating
and bbq contests, plenty of live music, and special cuisine featuring peaches.
Those interested in a guided experience can pre-register for an Orchard and Farm
tour on either Friday or Saturday. The tours will leave from Riverbend Park at 10am and return at
4pm. The tours cost $75 and are separate from the festival admission price.
